ENFP Compatibility Analysis

There are 15 ENFPs that have done my survey, which makes them the 2nd highest participation rate in the Extraverted Intuitives section. The majority of these ENFPs know an INTJ and an INFP in their social circle. Almost half of them are also friends with other ENFPs. The MBTI type they chose the most as their closest companion was INTPs, followed by ENTPs in 2nd place.

ENFP's Opinions on The Theory

ENFPs’ beliefs on how accurate the compatibility pairing theory is diverse and very split on thinking it could be accurate and inaccurate, along with thinking that in the middle where it may be accurate or inaccurate. One ENFP who rated the theory to be very accurate stated that they are best friends with an INFJ and married to an ISTJ. Someone who rated the theory to be somewhat accurate says that they are dating an INTJ and their connection has good chemistry. Another ENFP expresses that they are very close to INFJs and INTJs and their ESTJ sister (while it doesn’t exactly an ISTJ, it is an MBTI very close to it) and believes that the “theory can be true in a sense of how the thought processes complement each other both in their weaknesses and strengths.” In addition, they add that for romantic compatibility and relationships in general, other factors should be considered, such as “moral alignments, beliefs, emotional intelligence, and mental health conditions.” One participant who rated the theory 3 out of 5 expressed that they like people for who they are rather than what MBTI type they are. A different participant believes that it just depends on everyone’s experiences, and it may differ from person to person, too. One individual who thinks the theory is somewhat inaccurate expresses that they are not really close with their supposed pairings, but can still get along with them. Another thinks that the theory “seems to clump people too much.” One person who rated the theory to be very inaccurate states that they have seen couples who are not the supposed compatible pairings and their relationship is very strong; they also believe that a friend group that shares similar values is more likely to stick together. Another person who rated the theory 1 out of 5 expresses that their loved one isn’t in the supposed theory pairings. The last ENFP thinks that it isn’t very accurate due to personal experience.
Who do the ENFPs think they are compatible with?

Two ENFPs who chose INFPs alone as their best matches expressed that they would understand and listen to them. One ENFP who chose ENTP, ENFP, ENFJ, INTP, INFP, and INFJ says that these MBTI types have similar or complementary cognitive functions to them. Another ENFP selected ENTJ, ENFJ, INFJ, INTJ, and ISTJ, due to agreeing with the golden and silver pairing for an ENFP, in addition to ENTJ and ENFJ, since they have similar functions to INTJ and INFJ. They also chose ISTJ, since they have a favorite coworker who is that type. Another ENFP chose ENFJ since they believe they would get along well due to having many similarities. A participant decided on ISTP, INTP, INFJ, and INTJ because they would complement each other like yin and yang would. Another participant settled with INFJ and INTJ because they balance them out the best from their experiences. One different individual chose ESTP because their best friend is one. Another individual chose INTJ since they believed Reddit suggested that they work well with an ENFP. One person chose ENTP, INFJ, and INTJ since most people they met are these types that just understand them and are best friends with them. Another person selected ENFP, ENFJ, ISFP, INTP, INFP, INFJ, INTJ, ISFJ, and ISTJ because they can relate to them and not interrupt the conversation topic flow with them. One ENFP chose ISFJ because they had a successful 40 years of marriage with them. Another settled with INFP, INFJ, and INTJ because an INFP has similar functions to them and the other two would complement them. The last ENFP selected ENTP, ENFP, and INTJ since they would share the same morals/values and could have good debates with them.

Who Decided to Choose You, ENFPs?

Thoughts on Sensor vs Intuitive?

The majority of these participants believe that sensors and intuitives can get along; a few of their reasons include that they are married to a sensor. Some participants believe that they can complement and help each other grow due to their different ways of thinking. One expresses that they have seen experience of them getting along, while another expresses that every individual is different, which could factor in whether you get along or not. An ENFP expresses that it heavily depends on the individuals themselves, but theoretically believes that they can get along since “Intuitives bring the deeper, reflective, abstract part of sensors, while sensors bring in the moment, order, and reality check to intuitives.” Another voice said that if they get close enough to have a discussion, they will realize that they aren’t that far off from each other and just have separate ways of thinking. One participant states that “intuition vs sensing is the biggest difference” as they are someone with low Se and mediocre/unhealthy Si, which may make being around sensors frustrating, but both Se and Si users can teach them something and have value. Examples being “Se doms can be so passionate and teach you persuasion”, “Si users are smart and organized”, and they see Si users do their job well in a library setting.
