There are 12 ENTP participants in total, which gives them the lowest participation rate among Extraverted Intuitives, tied with ENFJs. Most of ENTPs closest companions consist of INTJs, INFJs, INFPs, and ENFPs. Only 2 participants have chosen their closest companion as sensors, while 10 of them considered an intuitive. Many of these participants have interacted with INFJs, INFPs, and INTPs.

ENTP's thoughts on The Theory

The majority of these ENTPs rated the compatibility theory 3 out of 5 or less, which suggests that they don’t find the theory to be accurate. A few individuals rated the theory to be somewhat accurate, with one of their reasons being that they like INTJs only in the short term and are unsure of how well their connection will do in the long term. The other participant thinks that personality does play a part in compatibility and relationships, but it's possible that this theory could fail since other factors, such as values and beliefs, are essential in relationship compatibility. One participant who rated the theory a 3 believes that the pairings are accurate except for the bronze one. One ENTP thinks the theory is just stereotypes due to certain pairings being hyped up, which has some logic and “correctness” behind it. Another thinks that it only works if any two types are mature. One individual has seen the silver pair worked out before and believes that relationships are about how healthy each individual is, as even a golden pair's unhealthy relationship is still unhealthy. The last ENTP who rated it as a 3 thinks that the theory can be accurate in terms of which MBTI types people tend to surround themselves with, but it isn’t always accurate, since while this person may have these MBTI types in their social circle, the ones they are closest with don’t fit the pairing theory, except for one. One individual who rated the theory to be somewhat inaccurate stated that humans are very different in general to be able to categorize them to fit into 16 different personalities of certain pairings to work out. Another participant says that everyone uses all functions in a spectrum and that these pairs are more about extreme preferences for certain functions that can apply to some people, rather than the majority. The last participant who rated the theory as 2 believes that the bronze pair is the most flawed one, as they do not believe that opposites attract. The only ENTP who rated the theory to be very accurate states that, from their experience, they “tend to be friends with people who share the same interests and values instead of personality.”

Who do the ENTPs think they are compatible with?

A lot of ENTPs chose INTP as their best theoretical match. Two individuals who chose INTP solely state that they have the same mindset as them and can understand their quirks, very logical brain, and are very open-minded. One ENTP chose ENFP because they are funny, and they, as an ENTP, are also funny. Another ENTP chose INFP due to having a husband and a close sister who are INFPs in whose Fi “helps ground me from the abstract and theoretical and keep me seeking to understand and embody my values. [In addition,] they have been invaluable in making me a good person according to my own criteria.” One individual chose ENTP, ENFP, ENTJ, INTP, and INFJ since they get along with these types the best based on their experiences. Another individual selected ENTP, ENFP, ENTJ, ESTP, ISTP, INTP, INFP, and INTJ for the same reason, in addition to admiring these types. A different individual selected ENTP, ENFP, ESTP, ISTP, INTP, and INTJ due to just thinking they would get along well with them and enjoy each other’s company without any major conflict. Two ENTPs chose ENFJ, INTP, and INFJ; one stated that the people they met with these types were cool. The other thinks that ENFJs can complement them and help tone them down, INTPs can be really adventurous with them and have many similar aspects, and INFJs can calm ENTPs down and can ‘perfectly complement’ them with some similarity and contrast. One participant selected INFJ and INTJ since they can learn from them and enjoy their company. Another participant decided on ENFP and ESFP because they have the same chaotic, extroverted personalities as ENTPs and think that they would get along great. The last participant selected INFJ since they tend to get along the best with this type in their platonic and romantic relationships in all aspects out of all types.

Who Selected You, ENTPs?

Thoughts on Sensor vs Intuitive?

The majority of these ENTPs believe that sensors and intuitives do get along, but some of them don’t believe that they get along. One individual who believed that they don’t get along is because intuitives are considered to be oddball, and they don’t know any sensors who can be seen as weird. Another individual expresses that they don’t believe from their experience since they haven’t seen a long-term friendship work out with sensors. One ENTP who believes that they do get along states that it varies from person to person. Another ENTP believes that they would complement each other greatly, with an intuitive benefiting from a sensor’s ability to be focused on objective details and looking at things closely, while a sensor would benefit from an intuitive’s ability to look at things broadly. One participant expresses that it's a 50/50 chance that they would get along since some intuitives can feel restrained or different from sensors. Another participant voices that 75% of the population are sensors, so it is required to learn their perspective. A different participant says they have seen and experienced many close friendships being sensors and intuitives, even if it may not make sense, they see this pairing very often. One person expresses that they get along with sensors themselves based on experience. Another person thinks that “if they communicate enough, the different perspectives could actually be refreshing.” An ENTP believes that they absolutely would get along as their best friend is an ISFP, and in some cases, can complete each other. The last ENTP expresses that they notice that they don’t connect well with sensors compared to intuitives, but they still get along with the sensors in their life. In addition, they believe that “personality types can play a big role in whether you get along with someone, but it isn’t so black and white like that.”
