ESTP Compatibility Analysis

There are 11 ESTP participants in total, which makes them the highest participation rate out of all Extraverted Sensor types. Only a few ESTPs have a companion that are ISTJs or ISFJs, yet they are more likely to know an INFJ in their social circle. Many of these individuals tend to interact with INTJs, ESFPs, ENTPs, and ENFPs, which includes extraverted perceivers or thinkers. Some of these ESTPs interact with INTPs, ENTJs, other ESTPs, and ISFPs as well. A few of them talk with ISTPs, ESTJs, and ENFJs. It is interesting to note that none of these ESTPs have an INFP in their social circle, and they don’t think INFPs are theoretically compatible with them either. A pattern I’ve noticed is that almost half of ESTPs tend to choose ESFPs as their best theoretical matches, but it is one-sided, as only a few ESFPs chose ESTPs as their best matches.

ESTP's Opinions on The Theory

Most of these individuals believe that the gold/silver/bronze pairing theory is somewhat inaccurate or very inaccurate. Only a minority believes that it is neither accurate nor inaccurate. This indicates that ESTPs think that the accuracy of this theory is not very accurate. The minority that voted the theory as a 3 out of 5 stated that they are unsure of the MBTI types that their social circle includes. The people who rated the theory to be somewhat inaccurate or very inaccurate expressed that they didn’t feel a strong chemistry with their golden, silver pairs. Some participants also voiced that MBTI types shouldn’t matter when having a healthy relationship with others. An individual expressed that only one of the pairings may be accurate due to having a healthy close relationship with their family member, while the others may not be that accurate for them. A few stated their reasons for the theory to be inaccurate due to seeing personal experiences of the pairings not being compatible, or due to the fact that their gold and silver pairings share no cognitive functions with them, but bronze may be a bit accurate due to being the polar opposite of them.
Who do the ESTPs think they are compatible with?

The majority of ESTPs chose other ESTPs and ISTPs as their best theoretical matches. Some even expressed ESFPs and ENTPs as their top theoretical pairings as well. One ESTP expressed that ESFPs are their best match due to having a long-term marriage with one, and they get along with their spouse better than anyone else. Another ESTP expressed that their best match is ISTPs due to ISTPs being humorous, realistic, and logical. One individual stated that INFJs are their best match due to the fact that they would complement them well due to sharing the same cognitive functions but in reverse order. One person stated their best matches are ENTPs, other ESTPs, ESFPs, ISTPs, INFJs, and INTJs, while another chose ENFPs, other ESTPs, and INTPs as their top choices because of having personal experiences where they had great chemistry with these types. An ESTP chose ENTPs, ENTJs, ESTPs, ESFPs, ISTPs due to perceiving them as having similar energy, lifestyle, and ambitions as them. Another ESTP expressed that their best pairings include ENTPs, ESTPs, ESFPs, ISFPs, ISTPs, and ISTJs due to having similar perspectives of the world as them. One individual expressed that they found a strong connection with other Se and Ti users, typically except for ISTJs, due to the fact based on their personal experiences, other MBTI types have issues dealing with their Se dom and Ni inferior. Lastly, one person stated that their best theoretical matches are INFJs and ENTPs because they felt understood by INFJs and thought ENTPs would have great debates with them.

Who Chose You, ESTPs?

What do they think about Sensors vs. Intuitives?

Almost all ESTPs believe that sensors and intuitives get along since they believe that some people may form a strong connection based on shared interests and values, rather than MBTI having an impact on it. Many of them also believe that they would get along with mutual respect and can’t see the perspective of why sensors and intuitives would not get along. Other ESTPs seem to think that sensors and intuitives would complement each other well. One even stated that they get along better with Ne doms than high si users. Another participant expresses that anyone who thinks that sensors and intuitives don’t get along is deceived by the MBTI community, since anyone can get along when both parties have a similar mentality and are open-minded. In addition, they think that narrow-minded people are present in both sensors and intuitives and that being a high Ne/Ni user doesn’t make someone more open-minded than someone who is a high Se/Si user. Finally, the ESTP who claimed that the two did not get along despite being unsure of their answer was because they found intuitives to be more systematic.
