INTJ Compatibility Analysis

There were only 10 participants who identified as INTJs in my survey, which has the lowest sample size among all the INxx groups. It is interesting to note that my participants seem to befriend the most about ISFJs, INTJs, INTPs, and ENTPs out of all the typologies. Their opinions on how accurate the metal pairing theory is were evenly split among all the participants.

INTJ's Considerations on The Theory

Most of these participants believe that MBTI is not an accurate measure to consider when making friends, as it is too simplified to use to determine compatibility within relationships. Some believe that there is more than MBTI to consider compatibility between a relationship, and that some types are bound to work out more than others. A participant who believed this theory to be accurate has expressed that they have close connections with an ESFP, ENFP, and ENTP, which proves that the theory is accurate for them based on their experiences. Another participant explained that, to a certain extent, it could be useful for folks to use MBTI to find out who to befriend and date, and see what their preferences are.

Who do the INTJs think they are compatible with?

Some of these INTJs chose their preferences from having successful relationships with them, one even being with an ISFJ romantically for 10 years. INTPs were chosen by these INTJs since they process the world similarly, which would result in less work and less conflict. This would make it easier for them to connect and have a successful relationship. ESFJs were selected by one participant because they are practical, calm under pressure, and can ground an INTJ when they get lost in planning and working. ENTPs and ENTJs are seen as folks who are bold, outgoing, approachable, share similar interests as INTJs, and are willing to initiate the conversation, which complements INTJs very well when both use high intuitive and thinking cognitive functions. ENFPs and ENFJs could complement INTJs well since both of them are intutives and high in Fi and Fe, which could help an INTJ grow in increasing their tertiary Fi and blind Fe.

Who selected you, INTJs?

Opinions on Sensors vs Intuitives?

Most of the participants argued that sensors and intuitives are able to get along as long as both parties are open-minded and willing to work with one another, and have experience by being friends with sensors as intutives themselves. Individuals believe that if people are willing to be open to see things from a new perspective, then they could see that they would be able to work with someone who may be different from them. Some believe that some people can coexist depending on the individuals specifically and the situation they are in. One individual believes that if a sensor and intuitive in a team can express themselves truly, then they can generate new ideas and work well together when pursuing a goal together. This also allows sensors and intutives to realize that they are more similar than they thought, as sensors can be interested in theoretical and creative concepts than they are even credited for. They can also complement each other as they can see each other’s blind spots, which helps them grow. The minority who didn’t believe that they could get along theoretically believes that they could get along. Though speaking from experience, they find it frustrating to bond with those who see the world differently than you do, as it is more difficult to relate to them.
