PIQ for college #3
Prompt: What would you say is your most incredible talent or skill? How have you developed and demonstrated that talent over time?
An example is switching dips to goblet squats, as I thought it helped me improve my leg muscles. I learned that doing the correct form of the exercise was more important than the weight. This allowed me to feel whether my muscles were actually being worked, since performing an exercise in improper form will work the wrong muscles. When discovering skullcrushers to work my triceps, I made sure I performed them correctly by following a video guide, which instructed me to place my feet flat on the ground and my arms above my shoulders as I lay down on the bench with dumbbells above my head. I would also hold the dumbbells at the base, since it allows me to focus more on the triceps. My discipline in the gym translated to my academic work by reducing procrastination and increasing work drive. Applying my skills to weightlifting has resulted in my body becoming more muscular. It has also enabled me to lift heavier weights over time.
